Among the techniques of biological assessment, we highlight Dark Field Microscopy (DFM), which consists of a qualitative evaluation of live blood, possible through a special and powerful microscope (up to 1000x magnification) for the direct observation of blood cells (red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets) and plasma components such as proteins, fibrin, toxins, and crystals.
Due to the angle of incidence of the light beam on the sample being observed, the background appears dark and the sample elements appear bright. It’s like a dark room with a small beam of light passing through the keyhole, illuminating the dust particles floating in the air. What was initially invisible becomes visible.
Its main advantage is the possibility to observe the sample in real time and in vivo, clearly, without the need for fixing and staining of cells. It is therefore a faster and simpler technique.
It allows healthcare professionals to directly and biologically assess cellular function, immune capacity, blood oxidation level, toxin level, and some nutritional deficiencies, in order to understand the patient’s health status.
Blood assessment by DFM is a well-accepted and well-founded tool. The study of the physiology and morphology of blood cells and other blood elements is essential for understanding the onset, cause, and progression of diseases.
